  No! The ozone function is a switchable option where you can choose whether it should be switched on or off.

• How does the ozone in the WDH-660B air purifier purify the air?

  Ozone oxidises harmful particles from the air. The ozone then turns back into pure oxygen, turning harmful air back into clean air. Research has shown that ozone reduces mould on walls, dandruff and rot. Ozone significantly slows down the appearance of mould and kills existing mould spores. Ozone is in fact one of the purest and most powerful oxidising and germicidal agents. Ozone is three thousand times more powerful in killing bacteria than chlorine.

• Is the ozone in the WDH-660B air purifier dangerous?

  Although some groups claim that ozone is dangerous, evidence of its harmlessness and usefulness in moderate concentrations prevails in hearings before the FTC (Federal Trade Commission). Moreover, millions of ozone air purifiers have been sold in the US and around the world over the years. There are no known specific cases in which an ozone air purifier has been linked to any kind of harm or injury.

  
  

  As with many substances in daily use, ozone can only be harmful when it is present in extremely high concentrations. In medium concentrations, on the other hand, it serves as a powerful cleaning agent without harmful side effects. Tests have shown that ozone can only be irritating to the lungs in higher concentrations, which is why our air purifier switches automatically to the anion function at a very early stage after a maximum of 2 hours of ozone. This time period ensures an optimal ratio of ozone in the room air at all times, even in small rooms.

• How often do the UVC lamps and the electrodes in the WDH-660b air purifier need to be changed?

  The UV lamp (2x in the unit) lasts up to 3,000 operating hours, you can also obtain this from us if necessary.

  
  

  If the electrodes are used very frequently (ozone function), the electrode (similar to a spark plug) may have to be replaced at some point!

• Up to what room size is the WDH-660b air purifier suitable?

  The maximum room size depends on many factors, such as:

  - Room layout

  - Air circulation

  - How much unclean air comes in

  - Your personal cleanliness goal

  - Air purification reason, such as pollen, fine dust and dirt particles, or odours and cigarette smoke.

  
  

  Note: When filtering dust and particles, one filter cycle is sufficient to clean the air, as all particles are trapped in the fine filter. In the case of cigarette smoke and odours, the carbon/catalyst filter is mainly used and here the filter medium needs approx. three filter passes per square metre of air until one can speak of clean air.

  
  

  Generally speaking, the air purifier is suitable for rooms up to approx. 45 m² (112 m³).

• Does the WDH-660b air purifier have a timer or can I put a timer in front of it?

  Unfortunately, you cannot use a timer for the unit. Please find enclosed information from the instruction manual:

  
  

  "The air purifier has a so-called MEMORY function. This means that the unit picks up where it left off before restarting. However, in the event of a power failure, this is not the case for safety reasons."

  
  

  A timer would be comparable to a power failure for the unit.

  However, the unit offers the possibility to set the remaining running time of the unit of up to 12 hours of operation and then it switches off automatically.

• What is the function of the UV light in the WDH-660b air purifier?

  Ultra-violet (UV) light eliminates many of the most common types of bacteria and viruses. Furthermore, due to its strategic placement in our air purifier between the filters, it ensures that the filters themselves can never become a breeding ground for germs.

  
  

  Conclusion: We recommend turning on the UV lamp once a week for about 2 hours to kill anything that has become trapped in the filter.

  
  

  Further use is otherwise only recommended if you assume an increased virus and bacteria load in your room - these are considerably minimised or contained by the use of the UV lamp.

• Can the WDH-660b air purifier be mounted on the wall?

  The unit is not actually designed for wall mounting, but it can certainly be mounted directly on a wall with a little manual skill.

• Is the WDH-660b air purifier suitable for pets?

  In general, the same positive benefits (as stated in our product description) apply to all types of pets. In fact, air purifier use is especially recommended for pet owners, as such households usually have a higher burden of pet hair, odours, germs, viruses and pathogens.

  
  

  The "ozone" function would be particularly suitable for the application area of animal odours, germs, viruses and pathogens, but since animals as well as humans react very differently to disinfectants, for safety reasons the pet should not be directly exposed to the ozone generator for the time the ozone function is running. It is best to bring your pet into a separate room or outside for a short time during this period.

  Since ozone works very quickly and also changes back into oxygen very quickly, your pet can be near the air purifier again immediately after deactivating the ozone function.

  
  

  With all other modes of operation of the air purifier (not ozone), there are no special considerations for pets. Ozone and the ozone operating mode are generally harmless to fish.

• What is the aroma diffuser in the WDH-660b air purifier?

  The aroma diffuser is a drawer located between the two air outlet slots. A fragrance cartridge is included as standard in new units (already included in the price).

  The noise level is as follows:

  Das Gerät ist soweit in Ordnung nur das Touch screen ist nicht so toll bedienbar , wenn man es mit der Hand bedient. sonst alles in Ordnung

  Der Touch-Screen zusammen mit der Fernbedienung erlauben einem erfolgreich das Gerät wie erwünscht einzustellen. Man muss die Fernbedienung nahe an die obere linke Seite des Geräts halten damit das Gerät darauf reagiert (der Touch-Screen reagiert nicht immer zuverlässig oder ich habe noch nicht herausgefunden wie ich ihn dazubringen kann, zuverlässig zu reagieren).
  
  Es hat keinen Schwammvorfilter mehr wie das Vorgängergerät (ich glaube dass der HEPA-Filter dadurch mehr beansprucht wird). Andererseits hatte ich mehr oder weniger Probleme mit der Reinigung des Schwammvorfilters beim Vorgängergerät, aber er war wenigstens vorhanden (und ich kann ihn selber entfernen wenn ich ihn nicht mehr haben will). Es gibt nur einen rigiden Kunststoff"filter" mit größeren Löcher, der meiner Meinung nach nicht wirklich größere Staubpartikel auffangen wird. (Ein Konkurenzgerät hat einen Vorfilter, aber keine Anionfunktion, keine Ozonfunktion, und keine UV-Lampe).
